(Want a Staff-ONLY door? Set the Sector type to be Staff Only in Deployment) (Staff never unlock doors for prisoners - it's not in their job description, and too dangerous) Note: Prisoners treat this as a normal door, requiring Guards to unlock in the usual way New object: 'Staff Door', which is a locked door that can be opened by any guard OR staff member I remember back when I played it in early access For the record, door lock system was changed in alpha 8 (March 2013) Is there anything else I'm missing there? Seems like one way to think of them is that JD's can be electronically controlled which allows for more complex door control systems and higher security level while Staff Doors are manually controlled but allow for more more convenience. The only advantage I can think of that JD's have over SD's, is that JD's can be remotely controlled if you wish to do so in addition to being able to be shut all at once in the event of a Lockdown. True, but as far as this game is concerned, what level of security does a Jail Door offer that a Staff Door doesn't? The Staff Door offers more convenience of course, but is there a downside to using it everywhere, as unrealistic as that may be?īoth JD's and SD's take the same amount of dmg before being destroyed.

Nobody gets in and out of a prison with a CO letting them through a series of locked doors. Janitors don't have access to all areas either unless a Guard lets them in. because it's all jaildoors and the workers get constantly stuck waiting for a guard to pass by. so all the prebuild campaign prisons are build incorrectly then. So i have to build staff doors everywhere even the main entry/exit because i need the staff to access the roads. Originally posted by dubesor:well that's stupid.
